Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is opened and edited entirely in your browser using local rendering, and the signed copy is written on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, so nobody else can read the document.
How do I sign a PDF for free?
Open the PDF, choose the Signature field, click where it belongs, then draw, type or upload your signature. Add a date or text field if the form needs one, and download the signed PDF.
Can I add a date and my name too?
Yes. Along with Signature and Initials there are Date, Name and Text fields. The date field defaults to today and can be changed to any date you need.
Does the signed PDF have a watermark?
No. The downloaded PDF contains only your prepared document plus the fields you placed. There is no branding, watermark or page limit added to the output.
What size file can I sign?
Up to 15 MB and 30 pages (after conversion). Because everything runs in the browser, very large files are limited to keep the editor responsive on ordinary laptops.
Is a PDF signed here legally binding?
It places your signature image on the document, which shows intent for everyday paperwork you control. It is not a compliant e-sign platform with identity checks and audit trails, so use a certified e-sign provider for contracts that require them.
Can I sign a Word file or an image?
Yes. Upload a .docx Word file, or a PNG, JPG, JPEG, TIFF or GIF image. Files are converted to PDF in your browser before you place fields. Legacy .doc is not supported — save as .docx or PDF first. Word layout is approximate, not identical to Microsoft Word.
